 There are different trails you can do at the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, the hike we do is called Las Pailas, and it takes approx. 2 hrs to complete – the distance is ( 2 miles) and takes you through the active side of the volcano so you will experience the steamy sulfur water ponds, bubbling mud, and fumaroles, while in the other side of the park it's greener and most of the time to observe wildlife, we will cover both. We will be all the time at the skirts of the volcano.

The canton has delightful folklore attracting many tourists and has more special tourist areas than any other canton in the province. Part of the Guacamaya tourist center is here as well as the splendid beaches of Potrero, Conchal, Brasilito, Grande, Tamarindo, Langosta, and Avellana.
